When you are outdoors be it hiking, cycling, camping or mountaineering, you need to be prepared as you never know what you may have to face while outdoors.

A good supply of clothing can make the entire journey and experience comfortable. Of course along with clothes you need to concentrate on other wide range of activities as well; however clothing remains the key component. The right amount of clothes will make your expedition comfortable and less tiresome. A person without proper clothing could land in a risky situation. Here are a few thoughts:

Proper shoes and socks - Ill-fitting shoes can leave a plethora of blisters and ruin you expedition. So pick up boots that will make you feel comfortable even after long periods of time. Keeping the feet dry is crucial while on an expedition; therefore opt for socks and footwear that will handle varied climatic conditions.

Snow, wind and ran gear - Wear jacket that are rain-resistant and which will protect you from wind. This can sometimes be complimented with a heavy coat or other variety of combinations depending on the situation.

Layers - While packing for an expedition focus on layers. It means focus on packing a those clothes that will allow you to make adjustments to the weather patterns in a better way. For example a big coat along with other thin layers must be opted to stay comfortable. This will give room for you to adjust and change into something more comfortable as and when there is change in temperature.

Day-wear - Even if you are packing tank-tops, shorts and fit-flops you may feel the need to wear long sleeved 'T's or shirts and long pants in rustic settings. So, do proper research of the area before you begin packing.

Hat- Do not forget to include a hat in your rug-sack. A hat protects your eyes for the rays of the sun and also keeps unwanted elements off your head; therefore a wide-brimmed hat would be an ideal choice.

Pack clothes according to the topography and climate of that region. But one must learn to know the difference between over-packing and under-packing. Remember you will have to manage in the absence of a washer and a dryer. With experience people gradually begin to gauge the situation and pack clothes in right amounts. If required check with experienced or a profession person to avoid misery. Packing a little extra will go along way in making your trip a success.
