Outdoor Furniture Cushions

For a long time, outdoor furniture was mostly made of flat wood or plastic and comfort was not so much an issue. However with the improvement in imagination and creativity of the designers, comfort has been given the necessary attention that it deserved but was never accorded for a long time. This has seen the introduction of cushions and other features that add comfort to the outdoor furniture. While most of the outdoor chairs are used for events that involve many people such as crusades and rallies among other events, it is important to note that there are also outdoor chairs that are used within the home just to relax outside the house or to enjoy he evening breeze at home and such outdoor chairs must be made comfortable since the users are likely to use them for long periods of time. If they do not have the cushioning required to make them comfy, they may not serve their purpose well.

As much as the cushions for outdoor furniture can be made just like other ordinary furniture cushions, it is important to note that the location of the outdoor chair and its use plays a very big role in determining the type of material that will be used to make the cushions. if the outdoor furniture is meant for use in verandahs and well covered areas where the chances of rain are scarce or impossible, then the cushions can be made from any fabric as long as it gives comfort to the user, however if the chairs are used for outdoor events such as weddings where adverse weather conditions may be experienced, then it would be wise to use water resistant materials such as polythene or other water resistant fabrics to cover the cushions.

The interior of the cushions can be made of sponge cotton pilings or even sisal as long as they are well covered to ensure they do not appear untidy, they can be used to puff up the cushions. Giving the cushions a good finish by sawing the edges well enough to prevent the puffing that may be stuffed into the cushions from falling out gives the cushions a good external image while the polythene or any of the water resistant synthetic materials used will ensure that the cushion does not absorb water should it be left out in the rain. If you were to consider beauty and color, it is important to note hat the water resistant synthetic fabrics also come in variable color giving the designer a wide range of colors to choose from.
