Ensemble Tartit - An African Musician
Ensemble Tartit is well known for his guitar and drum percussion
playing skills. He is another very successful African self-taught
musician, who in his early ages had to work his way through many
tough physical jobs in order to just get by.
His brilliant taste for fast beat and long lasting sounds of hand
drums in association with local guitars made of bamboo and dried up
wood was very unique.
Even though Tartit was never showed on any TV show or programs, his
influence in African music and trend was enormous.
He was once voted as the best ceremony performer for his upbeat and
happy playing style full of optimism and smile - something was very
encouraging to have for citizens of times during the war, when hope
and faith on things of better future was the essential ingredient
the country just needed.
