Djelimady Tounkara - Mali Artist
Djelimady Tounkara is a Mali guitarists who learned how to blend in
all traditional string guitar instruments and organic wooden craft
items found in Africa to create very pleasing and soothing music
style.
His main emphasis is in creating exotic sounds of natures, the
whispering of trees, animal groan and all kind of nature nuances
usually only heard in tropical country films.
Though he was not very popular in his time
Djelimady has created a wave of local folk music that can be
performed with simple instruments, such as drums, and other simple
hand guitars found across the Southern part of Africa.
